Commercial Powder Coating Services That Protect What You Build

Pieces of a metal frame being sprayed with a bright yellow powder coating as they hang from a conveyor system.

When your project demands a finish that holds up under real-world conditions, commercial powder coatings deliver performance that liquid paint simply cannot match. At Precision Coating Technology & Manufacturing, your parts receive the same level of technical attention whether you are running a short production batch or managing high-volume orders across multiple product lines. Our commercial powder coating services are built for manufacturers, OEMs, and engineering teams that need precision, durability, and a coating partner they can count on.

High-Performance Commercial Powder Coatings for Every Industry

The coating solution that protects architectural metalwork looks different from what shields agricultural equipment or military-grade components. At PCTM, we work with your engineering and procurement teams to match the right coating process to the right application.

Architectural and Construction

Your structural and decorative metal components need finishes that resist UV degradation, weathering, and surface wear. PCTM applies powder coatings that maintain color integrity and surface protection across extended product lifecycles.

Industrial Machinery and Heavy Equipment

Corrosion and wear are constant threats in demanding operating environments. Thermoset powder coatings create a chemically cross-linked film that bonds tightly to metal substrates, providing lasting resistance to rust, abrasion, and chemical exposure.

Military and Defense Suppliers

Your parts do not have room for finish failures. PCTM’s coating processes are suited for components where surface protection is tied directly to operational performance and compliance requirements.

Agricultural Equipment

Equipment that works in the field faces moisture, soil, fertilizers, and mechanical stress every day. A durable powder coating helps protect your metal components from premature corrosion and surface degradation season after season.

Our Commercial Powder Coating Process: Precision at Scale

Every part that moves through our facility follows a controlled process designed to produce consistent, reliable results.

Pretreatment (5-Stage System)

Before powder application, parts go through a controlled 5-stage pretreatment system:

1 Acid etch removes scale & rust
2 Fresh water rinse
3 Buffered wash with iron phosphate conversion coating
4 Fresh water rinse
5 Sealant application (rust inhibitor, compatible with nonferrous substrates)

Stages 1 and 2 can be bypassed when not required for lighter parts.

Dryoff and Inspection

Your parts pass through an 80-ft. dry-off oven. Dedicated inspection stations before and after dry-off allow our team to confirm pretreatment quality and proper drainage before powder application.

Electrostatic Powder Application

A two-operator spray booth covers both sides of your parts simultaneously as they travel through the line. This design eliminates thin spots and gaps, delivering even, thorough coverage at production speeds.

Curing

The final stage is an 85-ft. cure oven combining conventional forced-draft convection and an infrared boost section. This combination provides sufficient heat to fully cure even the most massive, high-density parts.

Part Capacity

Our 440-ft. powder coating line handles parts up to 44″ x 66″ x 144″, accommodating a wide range of sizes and lot volumes.

Why Choose PCTM as Your Commercial Powder Coating Company?

Advanced Coating Technologies and Finishes

Your coating requirements may go beyond a standard electrostatic finish. PCTM offers multiple coating technologies to match the performance profile your application demands.

Fluid Bed Powder Coating

Heated parts are dipped into a fluidized bed of powder particles. As the melted particles contact the hot surface, they form a thick, fused protective film. Ideal for parts requiring consistent edge coverage and heavier film builds.

Electrostatic Powder Coating

Powder particles are electrostatically charged and sprayed onto grounded metal surfaces. The resulting bond creates a thick, even coat that is cured with heat, producing a durable, chip-resistant finish.

PTFE / Fluoropolymer Coatings

Dry film lubricants incorporating PTFE (Teflon), graphite, molybdenum disulfide, and ceramic-metallic compounds. Applied as liquid spray or powder coating, these finishes reduce friction and wear for moving components and precision assemblies.

Plastisol Coatings

Liquid vinyl (PVC-based) coatings are applied by dipping. Films range from 1/8″ to 1/4″ thick, filling surface imperfections and providing a soft yet strong protective layer. Well-suited for molded parts and irregular geometries.

The Right Coating Partner Makes All the Difference

Your products deserve a finish that performs as hard as they do. PCTM’s commercial powder coating services give your team the reliability, process control, and technical support to keep production moving and parts protected. Whether you are managing an ongoing production program or scaling up a new product line, PCTM is ready to be the coating partner your operation can depend on.

Frequently Asked Questions About Commercial Powder Coatings

Choosing a coating partner involves real decisions. Here are answers to the questions procurement managers and engineers ask most often when evaluating commercial powder coating services.

What are the benefits of commercial powder coating vs. liquid paint?

Powder coating produces a thicker, more uniform film without drips, runs, or solvent emissions. The cured coating is harder, more impact-resistant, and more corrosion-resistant than most liquid paint systems. It also generates less waste and produces no VOC emissions during application.

What is the maximum part size your facility can handle?

Our conveyor line accommodates parts up to 44″ x 66″ x 144″. Contact our team to discuss your specific part dimensions and lot sizes.

Do your commercial coatings meet AAMA or ASTM standards?

PCTM works with clients on application and specification requirements. Discuss your project’s compliance requirements with our team during the quoting process.

How do you ensure color consistency across high-volume orders?

Our controlled application process and two-operator spray booth are designed for consistent, even coverage across entire production runs. Discuss color matching and finish specifications with our team when you submit your request for a quote.
