Frequently Asked Questions
Choosing the right OEM coating partner means knowing what to expect before your first run. Here are answers to the questions manufacturers ask most when evaluating PCTM as a finishing partner.
How do you ensure batch-to-batch color consistency and quality control?
Consistency starts before the powder is ever applied. Our integrated 5-stage pretreatment system removes scale, rust, and surface contamination to create a uniform substrate every time. Our 80-foot dry-off oven includes a dedicated inspection station before entry and after exit, allowing our team to verify that pretreatment is complete and parts have drained properly before advancing. The dual-operator spray booth applies powder from both sides simultaneously, ensuring even film thickness across every part in the batch. These steps are repeated the same way on every run, so your results stay consistent across every order.
What is your typical turnaround time for high-volume OEM coating runs?
Turnaround time depends on part complexity, lot volume, coating process, and your current production schedule. PCTM works with your team to establish lead times that keep your manufacturing program on track from the start. The most accurate way to plan is to submit your program details through a request for quote so our team can give you a realistic timeline based on your specific run requirements.
Can you meet military or aerospace coating specifications?
PCTM has direct experience serving manufacturers in the military and aerospace industries, where tight tolerances, surface integrity, and specification compliance are non-negotiable. We recommend discussing your specific coating requirements, performance standards, and any applicable specs during the quoting process. Our team will confirm process compatibility and any documentation requirements before your run begins.
